About The Event

"For The Love of Bohus Stickning" was a 2 day workshop located in the beautiful and scenic Columbia River Gorge in historic Hood River, OR. We learned about the history and legacy of Bohus Stickning from Susanna Hansson, while creating our own Bohus Stickning wrist warmers. With Susanna's expert instruction we learned the techniques used to create this most beautiful of color knitting, which incorporates the use of color and purl stitches on the right side of the fabric.

The workshop also included a slide presentation and discussion of the Bohus Stickning Industry, its origins, development, and eventual demise 30 years after it began. We also had an opportunity to examine, up close, several pieces from Susanna's collection of vintage museum quality garments, which was truly spectacular.
